Flogging Molly

Flogging Molly

I was in Florida last week to see Flogging Molly play at Revolution in Fort Lauderdale. It was a very cool venue as there was an outside area where the band played, with the crowd right below forming a nice pit You could also go inside and still see everything, but it was much cooler inside! Boy, was i not use to the heat down there.

This is the second time i have seen Flogging Molly, and they were just as good if not better then when i saw them the first time! They are a very energized band, lead by David King who just belts out every lyric and note with absolute power and just a bit of fury-haha. I highly recommend you get to see them if you can!

We did manage to get some pics, but they did not come out very well, so enjoy what you can!

Red Sox Game

Red Sox Game

Before heading off to Florida last week, i went to a Red Sox game at Fenway with a bunch of friend from work. We had an absolute blast! The seats were not so great, but who cares when you have cool people to hang with, and good beer! yes, you can find Sam Adams at Fenway-if you know where to look! I also got my first Red Sox t-shirt- Big Papi of course. Here are some pics from the night.

Grant Lee Phillips @ The Paradise

Grant Lee Phillips @ The Paradise

Last night my brother Jim and I headed over to The Paradise to check out Grant Lee Phillips. He is out on the road to promote his new album, Strangelet. This is my third time seeing Grant, and he was nothing but spectacular! He is a quirky guy who knows how to hang with the crowd, and belt out the music- and last night...he just rocked it!

The previous two times i saw him was at TT the Bears and i thought his sound was pretty good there, more so for Virgina Creeper, then for Nineteeneightes. Anyhow, with a bit of a slow start at The Paradise, Grant was in perfect tune by his fourth song, Honey Don't Think; one of my personal favorites. He went on to play many songs from the new album, which i am not as acquainted with yet, i am still listening to Virginia Creeper and old Grant Lee Buffalo Days, which he served up with Fuzzy and a rousing rendition of Jupiter and Teardrop driving us all into a frenzy.

I think what I enjoy most about Grant Lee Phillips, is not matter what i am listening to at the moment, punk, hardcore, experimental...i can always turn him on and be satisfied. His music truly soothes my soul. I look forward to next year, when he hopefully returns to Boston!
